Grandma Campos School in the Age of 100 Years

LONDRINA, - Isolina Campos proves it's never too late to learn. Although the 100-year-old, grandmother of origin Londrina, Brazil, was no doubt learn in school. It may be that he is now the world's oldest student.

Actually, he started learning to read in 1998, but due to his health condition deteriorated, he was out of school.

"Now he's back to night school to learn to follow so as not to idle at home," he said.

"I do not like to sit on my hands ... and I want to be an example for those who learn," said Campos. In Brazil, more than 17 million, or 7.4 percent of the population illiterate.

As a kid, Campos and his brothers made ​​"radapura" or sugar in the local language. Sugar cane is cut it from his father.

According to Regina Pierotti, director of the current school Campos, grandmother was an active student. "He always wanted to know the meaning of the word," says Pierotti told the newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo.

Campos also never skip. For Campos, learning is the last activity before bed. "Unless he's very sick,"said Pierotti.
